Flip the Marketplace: Demand-First Commerce
Traditional commerce teaches us to be passive consumers: wait for a store or an online seller to post an item, browse through endless pages, and hope the price is fair.
Meanwhile, in homes across Metropolis and every town in United States, millions of high-quality items—musical instruments, vintage cameras, specialized tools, camping gear—sit dormant in cupboards and basements simply because their owners haven't found the time to photograph and list them.
We flipped the equation through Reverse RFQs ("Wanted by Neighbors").
How Reverse Sourcing Works
- Post What You Need: Instead of waiting, a resident posts an explicit request: "Looking for a 10-foot aluminum extension ladder in Metropolis — have $40 cash ready for pickup this weekend."
- Neighbors Unlock Supply: A local neighbor scans the
/wantedboard, spots the request, and realizes they have that exact ladder leaning against their garage wall. They accept the request, arrange a daylight handshake, and earn cash while decluttering their home. - Zero Landfill Waste: The buyer gets what they need at half the retail price; the neighbor earns money; and an existing manufactured item is put back to work rather than being manufactured anew in a distant factory.
When communities articulate their needs directly, local commerce becomes collaborative, sustainable, and neighborly.
All physical transactions settle 100% directly between peers. The platform exercises zero financial custody, holds zero escrow, charges 0% sales commission, and assumes zero liability for physical meetups or merchandise condition. All peer listings are offered strictly AS-IS. Buyers and sellers are solely responsible for inspecting merchandise in broad daylight in public community areas before completing payment.
